Applies to houses and to one- or two-storey buildings containing more than one dwelling and to other forms of commercial construction of similar size. Sets out requirements for the classification of a site and the design and construction of a footing system which supports a masonry or framed one- or two-storey house. The performance requirement of the Standard is the avoidance of significant damage, provided the site is properly maintained in accordance with Appendix A.
